How can a 16 year old make money with programming?
I am good at java programming. Is there any part time job I can do with this? I want to complete my school and college. Will programming affect this?

It is my summer vacation and I am wondering if anyone knows of a good book to read for the summer. I looking for a computer programming book that will help me in school, because I am taking programming classes. Took one semester of C++ and taking one more next semester. Is there any book that a more experienced programmer would suggest.

I love them both but I need to choose the smartest one. I would feel much more satisfied knowing I programmed a robot that landed on another planet and made discoveries as to releasing the next big video game. But I just don’t know. I am 20 and still new to college. I am currently in for video game programming.

I’ve been programming since I was 7 (am now 25) but have never done so professionally. My undergraduate degree is in mathematics and I’m currently teaching; however, I always seem to get the most joy out of writing code and developing software. Is there any general advice anyone can give into entering the field of developing software/programming professionally? All of the job listings I’ve found require numerous years of experience.
Thanks!

I’m starting college in January. I’m majoring in Game and Simulation Programming. What are the perks? What is the salary? What is the work environment like?

I am an application developer with a strong interest in biotechnology, genomics to be more specific. It seems like I never seen any jobs advertised for IT positions in these fields. It is hard, or basically impossible, for someone with a degree in programming (CIS) - but no biology degree - to get a position with such a firm?

I’m currently designing a degree plan that I hope will involved something with IT. I already have an two year degree that covers the basics of networking but I think that it would help to know some type of programming. I’m thinking of learning database programming but I’m not sure that’s a direction that I should go. I don’t plan on becoming a programmer though as it’s not what I’m interested in. I’m not a big fan of programming to being with so I’m not even sure I should be thinking about it.

I’ll be a senior in HS next year. I want to hone my programming skills before in enter college because I want to be a computer engineer. Any programming languages other than C++ and Java that I should be proficient in before college?

I am currently a BS - math major and considering various grad programs. As far as financial engineering/mathematics, how much computer programming should I have as an undergrad? I have taken 2 semesters of Java and will take at least 1 additional course in numerical methods in computing. Should I try to do some self study with C++??? That seems to be the language of preference in this industry.
