How much programming is required for financial engineering?

I am currently a BS - math major and considering various grad programs. As far as financial engineering/mathematics, how much computer programming should I have as an undergrad? I have taken 2 semesters of Java and will take at least 1 additional course in numerical methods in computing. Should I try to do some self study with C++??? That seems to be the language of preference in this industry.

  1. LIBERTINEinSF Says:

Knowledge of C++ will help you with admission into a FE program as well as help you with your studies when you’re there. However, it is not a required prerequisite at most of the FE masters programs.
