In particular, which is better Dreamhost or TextDrive???
Other suggestions??
This is for more serious Ruby on rails and PHP web development.

Was wondering how long does it take to become a web developer? Html/css/php/Mysql or html/javascript/css/Ruby On Rail/Mysql??
Can I do that in 8 months and be marketable? How many hours should I study per day to accomplish thar goal?
Entry Level Web Developer is the Title I will like to post.
Thanks

Bluehost.com have given me SSH access on my account. I tried to follow this tutorial http://helpdesk.bluehost.com/kb/index.php?x=mod_id=2root=8id=232 in order to see how Ruby on Rails would work on my bluehost.com hosted website, but I was unable to make it work.
I reached the point where the tutorial says: You should now be able to go to http://first.yourdomain.com/, but when I did visit the link there was nothing showing there.
How can I make Ruby on Rails work on my bluehost.com account?

I need forum software that gives the users the ability to rate posts built into it. I also need the software to arrange threads not chronologically, but by post popularity.
The end result would actually end up looking a lot like Yahoo! Answers. Does anyone know of forum software like this?
I’d prefer it to be written in PHP, but I’ll gladly use Ruby or Python. No ColdFusion or ASP. I don’t do the corporate stuff :p

ASP.NET, PHP, Ruby, Cold Fusion or Perl. Please state the advantages as well as the disadvantages and try to keep the responses limited to the languages mentioned. Thanks!

I’m looking for an estimated # of web developers in the world. People who can use at least one web development language, such as PHP, Ruby, Perl, Java, Cold Fusion, etc.
I’m not looking for a job, I need the statistic for a document I’m writing, and my research hasn’t turned anything up yet.

Is this easy? I am not a programmer. Do I use PHP/ MySQL? Ruby on Rails? What about Joomla or something like that? Is a site with submitted user reviews called a CMS? Is there a template or simple program where most of the programming is done for me? Should I just pay a pro to do this for me? How much might it cost? Thanks in advance!! :-)
